The DUT-COLINE (Driving Urban Transitions – Complex Links of Neighbourhoods) project officially launched with a successful kick-off event in Budapest, bringing together nearly 40 participants, including researchers, government-, corporate- and city representatives. Led by Dr. Balázs Lengyel (ANETI Lab, HUN-REN Institute for Economic and Regional Studies), the project focuses on five European cities -Budapest, Copenhagen, Toulouse, Turin, and Vienna - to analyze urban mobility, segregation, and multimodal accessibility through advanced data-driven methods.
During the event, leading international researchers of DUT-COLINE Team presented their insights on key topics: Prof. César Hidalgo (Toulouse School of Economics): AI-driven urban perceptions, Dr. Riccardo Di Clemente (Northeastern University London): Mobility traces and urban movement patterns, Dr. Laura Alessandretti (Technical University of Denmark): Multimodal mobility and transportation trends, Dr. Márton Karsai (Central European University): Segregation challenges in the 15-minute city model, Dr. László Lőrincz (Corvinus University of Budapest): Mobility around workplaces and commuting patterns.
The discussions emphasized the importance of integrating large-scale mobility data, AI analysis, and empirical research into urban planning. The DUT-COLINE project will continue developing data visualization tools and analytical models to support policymakers in creating more sustainable and inclusive urban environments.
