Esteban Muñoz is a sociologist interested in social network analysis, survey methodology, and economic sociology topics such as gossip, trust, social capital, and business transactions. He is a Ph.D. candidate at the University of Milan within the NASP Economic Sociology and Labour Studies programme. In his dissertation, he studied social networks of gossip in Hungarian organizations, using inferential models for network analysis to test hypotheses inspired by sociological and social psychological theories. In July 2024, Esteban joined the ANETI lab at the Corvinus Institute for Advance Studies as a postdoctoral researcher, where he will study economic sociology topics using network analysis. In 2019 and 2023, some of his work was awarded by the World Association for Public Opinion Research (WAPOR).
