Guest Researcher Antonio Desiderio at ANETI Lab

During September, ANETI Lab welcomed Antonio Desiderio, Postdoctoral Researcher at the ISI Foundation, as a guest researcher in Budapest.

Antonio studies the digital and physical traces people leave behind to quantitatively understand human dynamics, combining methods from complex systems and computational social science. His research ranges from online collective behaviour to urban mobility, food networks and spatial inequalities.

During his stay at ANETI Lab, Antonio worked primarily with Sándor Juhász on questions related to amenity spaces and urban activity patterns, with links to the research carried out within the DUT-COLINE project. Their collaboration resulted in a joint presentation bringing together their ongoing work in this area.

The visit also provided an opportunity for the wider ANETI community to learn about another strand of Antonio’s research during his seminar on food networks and spatial disparities.

Antonio’s visit created valuable links between ongoing research on urban spaces, mobility, retail systems and spatial inequalities, and we were very pleased to host him at ANETI Lab.
