László Lőrincz has been awarded the 2024 Corvinus University Medal.
The University Medal is awarded to those University citizens who have demonstrated exemplary and outstanding performance over a long period of time, and who have exercised leadership, professional management, academic or service activities with a significant impact on the development of a department of the University, its reputation or the University community. This award also recognises the work of those who, in the context of their work, have carried out transformations, innovations and developments which have made a significant contribution to the renewal of the University.
Laudation read out at the ceremony: "László started his career at the Department of Labour Economics in 2016. For four years he has been a founding member and co-leader of the CIAS-ANETI Lab. He is an internationally prominent network researcher. His publication and grant activities are exemplary and his teaching is of high quality. He played a major role in the development of the country's first successful European Research Executive Agency Chair proposal. He played a lion's share in the creation of the Department of Network Science, which he has since chaired."
